EFB Annual General Meeting PORTO
On the 22nd of May 2024, the European Federation of Green Roof and Wall associations EFB held their hybrid Annual General Meeting in Porto, Portugal.
Vera Enzi, Delegate from Austria, was elected to take one of the 4 Vice-President seats for the upcoming work period 2024/2025 with an absolute vote.
The NBS Summit in Porto served as a wonderful opportunity to meet many EFB members in person, with many also joining online.
Here’s a quick recap of our productive day:
✅ Reviewed our achievements over the past year.
✅ Expressed gratitude for the incredible contributions from national associations to EFB and the building greening sector.
✅ Exchanged ideas for even stronger cooperation between Associations, companies, and umbrella organizations like SoGreen Movement, World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN), and other partners.
✅ Elected our new Executive Board – more information will follow soon.
✅ Welcomed a new extraordinary member: the Ukrainian Association of Green Infrastructure (UAGI)
We were also thrilled to have guest speaker Luigi Petito from the EU Chapter of the World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN), who emphasized the urgency of working together on the European Agenda and Nature Restoration Law. 🌍
Excited for the new working year with EFB!
Thank you for being with us and for your dedication.
Here’s to even greater achievements together!
Let’s make nature mandatory in the built environment! 🌱
The Federation and its national members actively promote the use of green roofs and green facades throughout Europe. Such technologies are known to provide better quality of life for towns and cities by returning sealed surfaces back to nature and help with Climate Change Adaptation. In 2018 the European Parliament and the Council amended the Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings and the Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency. In this light, green roofs and walls can contribute even more by improving building’s energy performances and help meeting other important targets like renewable Energies development.
